    Hongs of Phang Nga

45 min - A "hong" – the Thai word for “room” – is actually a collapsed cave systems in the interior of each island in Phang Nga Bay, only accessed by tough, purpose-designed inflatable canoes through sea caves at low tide. Open to the sky and filled with jungle flora and fauna, the hongs conceal a unique eco-system with monkeys, birds, fish and complete quiet, except for the twittering of birds. Local operators have so far gained access to dozens of hongs between Phang Nga and Krabi to the south, which you can visit and enjoy on a Phuket kayaking trip. Each hong tends to have its own distinct character, and it's easy to spend days, even a week, visiting island after island.

  3. 3
    Koh Panak Cave

1 hr - Loy Krathong Day is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month. It takes place at a time when the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. The word “Loy” means “to float”, and “Krathong” means lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. Loy Krathong is, therefore the floating of an illuminated leaf bowl. But nowadays some krathongs are made of coloured paper. A krathong usually contains a candle, three joss sticks, some flowers and coins. The history of Loy Krathong Festival is slightly obscure. First, it is to ask for apology from the water goddess for having used and sometimes made rivers and canals dirty. Second, it is to offer flowers, candles and joss sticks as a tribute to the footprint of Lord Buddha on the sandy beach of the Nammatha River in India. Third, it is to show gratitude to the Phra Mae Kong Ka or Mother of Water. Fourth, it is to wash away the previous year’s misfortunes.

Excellent and worthwhile trip

Just back from this trip with my wife and it was the most amazing trip we both ever had. The staff were amazing from start to finish. I have a food allergy gluten-free and once they were made aware of it they looked after it perfectly. This is a trip that you'll experience things you'll never see again. Breath taking views and excellent personal guides....just remember to bring a little cash to tip your guide and the chefs in the kitchen or you'll regret you didn't ....they are brilliant

Best trip ever!

What an excellent trip! Everything from start to finish was well organized, safe and delightful! I get sea sick but on this tour, I didn’t! The boat was excellent and so was the canoe! The entire crew took such good care of me, they remembered my name and kept asking if I was doing OK! Special thanks to Mr Yo and my canoe guide Oopsi. I will never forget this trip - one of the best I’ve ever been on! Stunning sunset! Thanks John Gray!

Incredible day with some amazing food.

This trip was amazing, very well organised, the guides spoke very good English, we had time to swim around the bay near the boat, or have a go on the canoe. The guides were great at pointing things out to us in the caves such as monkeys and fish. The food was also absolutely incredible, some of the best food we had in Thailand, would recommend this trip to anybody, totally worth the price and an unforgettable experience.

A fabulous tour

A fabulous tour…highlights: canoeing through caves into hidden lagoons, the wonderful experience of being involved as the friendly Thai guides make beautiful Krathongs, set them afloat at dusk, light the candles etc.

The kayaking - all of it!!

The tour was very well organized and I would generally recommend it. The scenery was fabulous and the food was wonderful. The staff were very nice and attentive. The only complaint I have is the size of the tour. It would probably not bother most people, but I usually only book small groups and there were a large number of people on the boat. On the up side, they put you in the kayaks 2 people and 1 guide, so you are very pampered in that regard. Our guide was wonderful!! There are a very large number of tourists in Phuket these days, so the only way you are going to get a more private experience is to book an expensive private tour. Overall I would recommend this tour.
